Corporate Social Responsibility

Environment

Cloud Essentials recognises that its operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment.  As a consequence of this, the Company is committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.

Employees are encouraged to take a sustainable approach to transport to and from work, with provision of showers for cyclists, frequent car-sharing and use of public transport. Where appropriate, we encourage staff to use train transport for visiting customer sites and use teleconferencing technology where possible to deliver services remotely.

Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy

This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, partners, contractors and suppliers.

Cloud Essentials strictly prohibits the use of modern slavery and human trafficking in its operations and supply chain. We have and will continue to be committed to implementing systems and controls aimed at ensuring that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our organisation or in any of our supply chains.

We expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.

Equal Opportunities

The Company’s objective is to maintain operational standards so that all its employees and employment applicants are treated equally irrespective of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, marital status or ethnic origin.

In South Africa, Cloud Essentials is a level two Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) contributor with strong roots in South Africa and with a clear commitment to the social development of the country and to create opportunities for talented individuals, while directly contributing to the economic transformation of South Africa.

Community

Located in a 19th-century building in a conservation area, Cloud Essentials UK is considered an active part of the small Victorian seaside town.

Wherever possible, we source supplies and services locally, our objective being to reducing the impact of transportation on the environment when goods are shipped, and also provide employment opportunities for locally based people.

Outside of office hours Cloud Essentials offers its car park to local residents to ease road congestion.

There is also a community market held in the Company car park every month.

Philanthropy

Cloud Essentials supports a range of charities and has a long track-record of supporting the causes that make a difference to the local community, and those that support its customers, including Housing Associations and Hospices.

We've been helping enterprises cope with change since 1991.

Chris Hathaway
Chris Hathaway, Operations Director & Cloud Advisor

I’m really passionate about helping our customers get to grips with how they manage, secure and access their data in the cloud. Data governance has become a theme that gets threaded into every project and it sets us apart from other cloud partners.

We take time to point out the implications of even the most basic cloud configurations. Storing what could be huge volumes of data in the cloud needs careful consideration before you launch feet first into anything.

David Kellett, Technical Director

Being unafraid of being pioneering is where we stand out. We often find ourselves in very niche areas – it means I oversee fewer, but more technically challenging projects, which I love.
